Executive Summary

Traffnetic is a platform designed for orchestrating traffic in an entirely different way. 

As citizens and businesses of Greater Vancouver, we are going to “crowdsource” the launch of a global platform with decentralized, community owned and orchestrated traffic systems using Swarm Intelligence and a Strategic Ecosystem for a market based delivery of transportation services. 

Traffic congestion costs cities hundreds of millions of dollars every year, with untold costs to billions of commuters worldwide annually. 

No single person, company, industry, city or country can solve traffic on their own. Technology unto itself can only provide the pieces, but not the solution. 

Our motto is, “You can’t solve traffic, but we can!”

Traffnetic’s Mission is to transform traffic congestion from a massive economic cost to cities and citizens worldwide into a traffic ecosystem that increases the productivity of its citizens, and produces a profitable enterprise with a distributed ownership network.

The Traffnetic Pilot Project is a means to introduce to the citizens and businesses of Vancouver to the transformative potential of solving traffic with widely distributed benefits. 

The Traffnetic Pilot Project is based on the philosophy that the best way to learn about something as advanced as a platform based ecosystem that turns a cost into revenue is to learn how to build one. 

Traffnetic: A Strategic Social Network

The secret to sustained success in the age of digital networks rests upon the very nature of humanity: Relationships. 

While the Industrial Economy maximized its potential through organizational transaction management, the Digital Economy can only realize its full potential through networked relationship management. 

This requires an entirely different structure, culture and holistic approach than that which underpinned the industrial organization. 

A strategic social network must accrue economic value for both the agent (node), the knowledge domain clusters, and the network as a whole.

The best and only way to approach the problem of solving traffic is through Platform Based, Strategic Ecosystem Orchestration. 

A strategic ecosystem is essentially a collective of autonomous agents (from both the supply and demand sides), businesses and government representatives who act in concert to create a value offering that none could create independently. 

High performance ecosystems continuously finetune the inputs and outputs to minimize the shared risk while maximising the total value created and its merit based distribution of benefits.
